Certification for Palm Oil Farmers Initiated

The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF) has taken a tremendous step towards promoting sustainability through smallholder farmers. By initiating a certification process for palm oil, they are providing farmers with a way to meet the requirements of sustainable palm oil production. This move has significant benefits for the economy, environment, and people, as well as the global demand for sustainable palm oil.
1. The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF) has initiated a certification process for palm oil to promote sustainability among smallholder farmers.

In Uganda, smallholder farmers certified under the MAAIF for sustainable palm oil production have increased their incomes by an average of 34%.
